Episode 7 – Two times world battle rap champion Illmaculate is on a brief tour of Australia right now and spent an afternoon checking out graffiti in the Melbourne CBD with tour mate/manager Cool Nutz. Both decided to drop an acapella while they were here so I wanted to bring out the first one while he’s still in the country to showcase the brother’s lyricism. Read more

Episode 6 sees us visit with Poison Pen, the head honcho of Grind Time East Coast, Grind Time New York and also a member of Rebel Armz. Pen dropped this verse, went right back inside, signed some shit and then jumped on stage. Read more

Episode 4 and one of my CHCH fam; Jay Roacher. Jay Roacher has been a good friend of mine since the early 00′s and is one of my favourite lyricists out of New Zealand in spite of any friendship bias. His rhymes are often self-reflective, sometimes depressing but always with top lyricism.

Episode 1 of the new acapella series. Each week on the site I’ll post a new acapella from a line up of local & international rappers and poets. First up is Young De. Young De aka Demrick came out to Australia as a part of the Xzibit tour, and tore up his own solo shows while he was out here. This acapella was shot outside the Laundry Bar in Fitzroy, Melbourne literally 5 minutes after he finished his set.
