There is no one in New Zealand who symbolizes NZ music more for me than Ladi6. I first saw her way back in the mid 90′s performing as part of her all girl crew Sheelahroc, at a day event for youth in New Brighton, Christchurch (our home town). Ever since, I’ve loved her music and although we aren’t the best of friends she always makes time to say hi and chat when I see her so I’ll always have love for her as a person as well. A mum, a singer, a rapper, a staunchly proud kiwi… Ladi is all of these things & more.
