CHINO XL

Chino XL has been in the game a long time, long enough to pay more than his share of dues and master the true artform of wordplay. He came to Australia as a guest of local rapper Surreal and tore up every stage he hit with tour mate Bobby Bout-It. Here he demonstrates why he is renowned as one of the best lyricists in hiphop with a piece called 'Wordsmith'. I'm a big fan of good lyricism so this has been hands down one of my favourite things to have filmed.

Alec Paul & David Dallas

Since bursting onto the scene as Con Psy with a guest verse on Scribe's 'Not Many remix', David Dallas has been one of New Zealand hiphop's most loved sons. Recently signed to Duck Down Records in New York; David is gaining global attention (even winning MTV Global Artist of the week recently) thanks to his unpretentious, humble attitude, passionate performances and smooth flowing raps. Here he performs the verse that started it all (live for the first time in 5 years!); edited with the skating of another of New Zealand's favourite sons, ABC (Aotearoa Board Co) skateboarder Alec Paul. Alec has one of the best styles in NZ and is willing to hit whatever spots you put in front of him with no warm up. A true street skater and loved member of the ABC family; Alec has been consistently repping on and off his board since the 90's... Read more

(vid) Immortal Technique - Aus tour drop

I love what I do. Sometimes I get to meet people I’ve respected for a long fucking time, and this was one of those moments. Immortal Technique is one of my favourite lyricists of all time. Rhymes full of intelligence, socio-political commentary, and straight up truth to anybody who listens. check it…
