CHINO XL

Chino XL has been in the game a long time, long enough to pay more than his share of dues and master the true artform of wordplay. He came to Australia as a guest of local rapper Surreal and tore up every stage he hit with tour mate Bobby Bout-It. Here he demonstrates why he is renowned as one of the best lyricists in hiphop with a piece called 'Wordsmith'. I'm a big fan of good lyricism so this has been hands down one of my favourite things to have filmed.

Alec Paul & David Dallas

Since bursting onto the scene as Con Psy with a guest verse on Scribe's 'Not Many remix', David Dallas has been one of New Zealand hiphop's most loved sons. Recently signed to Duck Down Records in New York; David is gaining global attention (even winning MTV Global Artist of the week recently) thanks to his unpretentious, humble attitude, passionate performances and smooth flowing raps. Here he performs the verse that started it all (live for the first time in 5 years!); edited with the skating of another of New Zealand's favourite sons, ABC (Aotearoa Board Co) skateboarder Alec Paul. Alec has one of the best styles in NZ and is willing to hit whatever spots you put in front of him with no warm up. A true street skater and loved member of the ABC family; Alec has been consistently repping on and off his board since the 90's... Read more

(vid) Home Brew - Yellow Snot Funk - live at Espy

Home Brew are one of the best groups making music worldwide right now. Drawing from funk, soul, hiphop and more; their music is liked by almost anyone, and their personalities are talked about as much as the tunes. Drunken, outspoken, political, never shying away from the topics that others fear to mention. I’ll always have time for these boys.  check it…

(vid) Kickz101 - Nike Miami Vice Lebron IX shoe launch

Kickz101 is one of the best streetwear stores in Melbourne, and the home of everything basketball. Matty, who runs the store, has always been great to talk to and work with. I first shot in the store when I filmed a day in the life of Joe Ingles for the South Dragons NBL team and Matty has been down for the cause ever since check it…

(vid) Pez - 100 Bars

Pez is one of the first artists I ever filmed in Australia, most renowned for his track ‘The Festival Song’ and his collaborations with 360. Pez is one of the most humble and honest rappers I know. He likes to have fun and also isn’t afraid to bare his soul on a track. This is one of his most personal efforts yet. check it…
